# Set Up Your New VIZIO Smart TV in a Few Easy Steps

Setting up a new **VIZIO TV** takes about 15 minutes: attach the stand or wall mount, plug in power, then follow the on-screen setup to pick your language, connect to the internet, and accept terms.

## Before you begin

* Your TV, remote, batteries, and stand (or a compatible wall mount)
* Your Wi-Fi network name and password, or an Ethernet cable
* Optional: a smartphone with the VIZIO Mobile app

    Lay the TV face-down on a soft, flat surface. Attach the stands or a VESA-compatible wall mount using the included screws.

    Plug the power cord into the TV and a wall outlet. Connect any cable box, console, or antenna now if you have them.

  <Step title="Insert batteries and power on">
    Put the batteries in the remote and press the **Power** button.

  <Step title="Follow the on-screen setup">
    Choose your language, country, and time zone. Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password, or use a wired connection.

  <Step title="Accept terms and let the TV update">
    Review and accept the terms. The TV may download a software update; leave it powered on until it finishes.

    Open the home screen to launch streaming apps, or press **Input** to switch to a connected device.
